How eBay fees work in United States

  • Final value fee: A percentage of the total amount of the sale: item price, shipping, handling and sales tax. The rate depends on the category and on whether you have a Basic or higher Store.
  • Per-order fee: $0.30 on orders of $10 or less, $0.40 above. Part of the final value fee; charged once per order.

Clothing: 13.6% of the sale up to $7,500 and 2.35% of the part above (Basic Store or higher: 12.7% up to $2,500, then 2.35%).

Handbags and jewelry are charged one rate on the whole sale: handbags 15% up to $2,000 and 9% above it; jewelry 15% up to $5,000 and 9% above it (Basic Store or higher: 13% and 7%).

Athletic sneakers: 8% when the sale is $150 or more, with no per-order fee; 13.6% below $150 (Basic Store or higher: 7% and 12.7%). Sneakers sold through Authenticity Guarantee on eBay’s free label pay no final value fee on shipping.

Every threshold counts shipping and sales tax, not just the item price.

Top Rated Plus listings get 10% off the percentage part of the final value fee (not the per-order fee). Not included here.

Not included: insertion fees after 250 free listings a month ($0.35 each), Store subscriptions, the 1.65% international fee, and the extra 6% of the sale for Below Standard sellers.
